The National Criminal Search is derived from a compilation database which includes criminal record information in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. It includes criminal data from criminal courts, state criminal record repositories, probation, prison parole and release files, sex offender registries and other government agencies, as well as additional proprietary criminal history data.

NOTE: This is a compilation database, and is not a public comprehensive/ complete database for every state and/ or county in the entire country. There is no public comprehensive nationwide repository that houses all criminal activity in the U.S.

Federal Criminal Search
Description
Federal Criminal Search reports criminal complaints brought by the U.S. government against defendants for violations of federal criminal law. Examples of federal crimes include mail fraud, bank robbery, crimes committed in an airport, interstate drug trafficking and kidnapping.

Federal crimes will not appear in state or county court record searches and for this reason it's also important to conduct federal record searches. Each state is comprised of federal districts. For example, Florida is made up of three different districts, while Texas has four. We provide you with a choice of conducting single federal district searches or cost-effective statewide federal searches.

NOTE: A common misconception is that this type of search is a national criminal search.

Description
A "Safety 1s Volunteer Screening" provides a comprehensive report that includes a National Background Search, information on the volunteer's previous residence addresses and whether a Social Security number has been issued. The report will also show any maiden and/or married names associated with the SSN, and whether the volunteer's SSN is currently being used by other individuals. This product is only available to volunteer and non-profit organizations.
